Final Forge Sub-Forum (Stickies or Ann.?)

Ahoy Ahoy,

As you now see, we've got some new topic icons (wonderfully supplied by Gimil). So I can make all the not Quenched maps into Stickies again (like before, hopefully they'll stand out better now). The only downside is that Stickies are not separated like Announcements are, but as you know Announcements don't float, they're fixed in position (I.E. when a post is made, it doesn't move to the top of the area).

So which would the Foundry prefer?

Separated Announcement style, with fixed positions
--OR--
Stickified style with active positions

sticky because I like the recently bumped topics at the top

also, I think maps that are in Final Forge for a long time with nothing being done (spaceness and conqueropoly) should be moved back to the main foundry for more discussion.

especially since I think both maps are undergoing overhauls

sorry for being off topic.

I thought I would quote this as well (QFT) - there should be some sort of rule about time between updates if you reach final forge.

spaceness sure, but not conqueropoly, idk why but speler has been holding everyone up for it since January, and i think the other guy who is doing the xml along with me (cant remember his name) is trying to take over graphix.

Yes....agreed, if your map is in Final Forge, then the cartographer should be as active as possible to keep the map rolling through FF and get the map quenched. This idea of letting a map sit in FF for ages simply because there is a lot of feedback and not necessarily constructive criticisms or updates on the map is hoghwash sts.
If a mapmaker can't commit to completing the map when it is so close to being quenched then it deserves to be moved back to the Foundry.

i agree with the rollbacks as well.
but, are we talking about an official time limit here?
how would this be decided?

I think a reasonable amount of time we be a sufficient explaination. I personally dont think I need to hunt through a thread to find the date when I know it hasnt been updated in a long time. e.g. south africa, conqueroploy, spaceness etc
