sorry ive been kinda busy, and I dont know when Ill be able to do some good commenting :|


Some things tho:

1) Like the new parchment :) Only thing is that in the upper left corner it doesnt blend that well. Maybe try a slight gaussian blur there?
2) Some borders are really rough
3) Seems to me the only change in the mountains is in the color, and it doesnt look that good :(

Just some quick thoughts:
  • There are some things that really contrast the parchment/treasure map-feel/look of the map:
    (a) The legend. You've got the whole translucent-white-modernlike-organized look that goes against the rest of it.
    (b) The arrows. Just, really, they're too standard. Same goes to the lines at the end of the dotted lines.
    (c) The mountains. Not as much as the others, but I don't really like them anyway. I would suggest just drawing them or just one and making that into a brush.
  • Really, get rid of the caps on the named map. I would really love to see how it looks with normal text, even if you just IM it to me ;) .
  • I don't really like how "Dead End" and "Button" are vertical while all the others are horizontal. Space will be made much easier without the caps, and even right now I can easily see "Dead End" being fit on two lines.
  • To be honest, I would get a different font. One that's even more sloppy-yet-neat handwriting — try http://www.dafont.com or http://www.1001freefonts.com
  • For the key, try making the colors under the names a bit sloppier.
I love the parchment and the skull things!

Thank you verry much mr. 44 i am looking for a new font as i am writing, but it may take me a little while to find a good one. What would you advise me to do for the legend at the bottom? I will again redo the mountains, i saw yours on korean penninsula (maybe you could give me some pointers). THE CAPS WILL BE GONE, and i'll work on everything else :D :mrgreen:

I'm not a big fan of the arrows for the sea connections and the mountains seem out of place. Also, it is much easier to eliminate all other opoenents than to hold x for a turn. Perhaps you could not make the island killer nuturals but instead have a negitive bonus of -3.

oh and i was tinking about making x start with 3 a long with all of the other territories on grendelia, but X gains a neutral each round?

I voted for letters/numbers, but I'd really prefer if they had names. Just short names. not all the long territory names you have now.

that makes sense, but i if it was because of the amount of room the names take up, the newer font saves a lot of room...



anybody have any ideas on what i should do for the one way borders?????

Don't worry it's just because he's bitter. It's not the same at all because he has an objective, boats, different layout, different graphics, different theme, etc.

what about, all territs on grend. start with 3 including x, and x gains +1 neutral every round, and the others are still killer neutrals. that way you cant just have 1 on x, or you wont get it. (does that make sense)? but after graphics are done, we can develope from the current gameplay
