Bit harsh there mate. All he has done is state his case, so I can't see why you'd want to foe him.

Delusions of grandeur perchance?

Eddie spells like a 10 year and acts like a 8 year old so its entirely appropriate that he be treated like a 6 year old who has thrown constant tantrums =D>

I think what Chuuuuck is trying to say is that he's tired of Eddie derailing the thread when he already has gotten his answer multiple times. There's a difference between "stating your case" and being a constant annoyance when you get an answer you don't like. I don't blame him for not wanting to see his posts anymore so he can move on with the important things.

Not to mention that Eddie has a history for spamming PM's to people as well (plus he's already admitted to sending Chuuuuck some in this thread), so I'm sure Chuuuuck has been pushed over the edge more than we've all seen.

comic boy, please don't insult my 8 year old like that. She is much better behaved, although her spelling is on par with his (so by the time she's 10 it should be better).

Chuuuuck, what if in a 41 games series, 2 clans tie at 20-20 and one player has played 15 games, is he or she allowed to play in a 16th game (41st) for the tie breaker?

Great question, I kind of like the idea of not allowing them to play a 16th, it adds more strategy with leaving one of your top players at a 14 game count if you think there is a good chance of a tie-breaker.

No, the 41st game is not a tie breaker game in the 41 game sets. That game is being played regardless at the same time as the other sets in order to keep the tournament flowing because we learned from the past that one challenge can hold up the entire tournament in the early rounds. Therefore, the 15 game limit is for the entire 41 games.

Chuuuuck, are all clans aware of this? That all must play 41 games, then 61 if they advance this far, no matter what? So, all clans must make the quads world 2.1 game regardless, even if the score is 30 to 10 after 40 games?

We must play the deciding game no matter what the outcome?

If so, when do we create the 41st game?
What clan creates it? The higher seed?

however, you do say here chuuuuck:

Any players can play in the tie-breaker games in the semi finals and finals even if they have already played in their allotted number of games for that clan war, however, no player can play in more than 2 of the games. Maps cannot be reused in the tie breaker games.

so in the semi-finals and finals, a player can play maximum, 22 games, correct, only if there is a tie and you need the best of 7 tie breaker? If that is the case, then one player could play 22 games, this is the exception?

My guess is you should include the tiebreaker in the second set of games..just have the lower ranked clan make the extra World quads game.

My understanding is that in the semis, the concern is not about keeping the tournament "flowing" so the tie breakers are not part of the normal game sets. It only happens if the 60 games ends in a tie.

Prior to the semis, the 41st game is part of the normal game sets so the max applies.

so, the 41st game is mandatory, not beyond that is what you are saying Lubawski? so if there is no need in semi for 61st, then we don't have too?

again, when do we create the 41st game? end of challenge, who creates it? higher seed?

Lubawski has it correct. Up until the quarter finals, there is no chance of a tie breaker because an odd number of games is built in. With that game being built in, it applies to the maximum playing rule. This is for the purpose of keeping the tournament moving along. Once we get to the semi finals, the competition becomes more of a spectators gallery and that kind of anticipation is fun so we will allow games to end in a tie and then proceed to start a 7 game tie breaker. Who makes the game is somewhat irrelevant, but for the ease of it being someone's responsibility we will say the higher seeded clan makes the extra game with the specific settings outlined in this thread. Also, we will say that the extra game should be made with the first batch since it is a quads game and we are encouraging clans to send their larger games in the first batch (not mandatory) in order to get results sooner from the games that will last longer. I will update all of this in the OP.

That was the answer I was looking for, thank you!

Finally, I see there is 29 clans that signed up, that is great news! Do you then need to re-format your tourney bracket? If so, then it may be possible a few higher seeded clans could have a bye?

Helps to read more than just the first page... especially the past few ;)

Chuuuuck wrote:As you all can see, we have 29 clans participating this year. That is an awesome number and should make it very exciting for the competition. This also means that every clan will have a play-in matchup except for the clans that are seeded in the top 3. Seeds will be based off the Power Rankings.

Why does the higher seed go first? Seems like they should have a home field advantage like in baseball, the lower team sends their maps and the higher team van then plan based on those maps what to send. If we were playing a clan that used 90% standard basic maps it'd be an advantage to send all conquest maps. Just a thought.

What am I missing, shocked? I thought both clans have the deadline to send their homegames at the same time, so neither clan would have the advantage of deciding based on what the other clan sent (except when the other clan sends in their games early, of course).

Chuuuuck wrote: Organization
For each clan war, the higher ranked clan will setup a thread to run that particular match. PLEASE PUT "C.C." (STANDS FOR CONQUEROR'S CUP) AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TITLE FOR EACH CLAN WAR. All games should be created using gaming privileges for each clan war. All game links should be kept up in the thread created for that clan match. Games should be sent 10 at a time from each clan (20 games total) for each round and sent by the date specified on the schedule.

In each clan challenge thread. A list of players participating for each clan should be kept up along with a running tally of how many games each player has played in. If someone feels a player has violated the number of games they are allowed to participate in, please bring it to my attention. If they are found in violation, the opposing team will get to pick any games from the last batch played equal to the number of games the went over the limit to restart without that player participating.

When games are sent, they must already be created and fully joined by the home team. TheSpaceCowboy and myself should be copied in the private message sending each clans home games. Once home games are sent, the away clan has 5 full days to fill the games. If your opponent is late on either sending/joining home games or joining games please notify me immediately. There will be some leniency on running late, I will work out a date with the clans involved and set a date that games must be sent/joined by. If a clan is still late in sending/joining home games or joining games they will forfeit 1 game per day late. The opposing team will choose which game they forfeit from the batch of games in question (i.e. if a clan sends their home games 1 day late, the opposing team will choose one of those games the late clan forfeits once they receive them). TheSpaceCowboy and myself will be checking the forums for every clan match to make sure they are being kept up properly, sent and joined on time, and the playing rules are being upheld. However, if any clan feels their opponents have broken a rule they should bring it to our attention immediately.

I think you might be confusing this with the 1v1 clan tournament Shocked. This is just like any normal clan challenge. Clans send games at the same time for each round.

"Remember, all dates mentioned mean the games must be sent by the end of that day" <---- What happens when a clan is late with games? I think there should be stiff penalties in order to keep this moving along. If we start bending the rules challenges will run extra long. Keep on schedule is key here. Sure real life happens, but plan ahead and be pro active rather than reactive.

I recall a Stalingrad game with you and jens where I didn't even remember taking my turn... good thing the game was well in hand at that point. :D

How about a rule whereby the opposition are allowed to create any games that are overdue? Seems a fair compromise and it sure beats the hell out of forfeiting games which end up skewing the actual result.

And yes Incan....I remember that turn well (even if you don't)

I dunno, I can see where you're coming from, but a blanket "no sitter" rule would be A) impossible to enforce, and B) a bit of an over-reaction.
