tie rule:
why not quads? why not random? why, oh why, please tell me why damn no spoils? :( i already see us in finals against TOFU, they had all the luck in the world there and manage to get to 30-30, and we are in "one game, winner takes all" situation. and i need to beat CoF in no spoils(not going to happen), or let someone else from Nemesis play that game(even less chances then beat CoF )

You were right about one thing, I "aint gonna change anything." By the way, "aint" aint a word and I aint going to use it.

Anyway, I had to choose a map because one team could get screwed big time in a triples or quads game with Random. And Classic to me is the obvious choice for a map to pick that doesn't give a huge advantage typically to any one team.

The rest of it, no real reason. I just had to make a choice and that is the choice I made. I tried to make it generic and simple.

ok teach me how to write english... you wanna try serbian? :P or you are forgetting im filling HA's chair until he is back so i need to be more like him

anyhow, just a suggestion :) and i think its a creative one... lets say you really end up tied with someone, why not use more players to decide? it would be fair, imo :) so, lets take 3 classic games triples. one with no spoils, one with esc, one with flat rate. any player can be in only one of those, and the winner would be the clan with 2 or 3 wins. this way, esc specialist would be in same position as no spoils specialist(there is no real specialist for flat :D), and the challenge will be decided by 9 players, not only by 3

Yes, so monkis wanting to play need to hurry and jump ship before the games get under way. :P

Also, chuuuuck: we'd like to modify the KORT contact info, and add sjnap as a secondary contact along with me.

Thanks! :)

No we can jump ship at any time because our clan isn't playing in this so the rule doesn't apply to us ;)

It appears so CoF.

A little more on topic, L4D and DVDLL have started the first thread for a clan war for this tournament. I will be updating links to all of the threads in the 3rd post starting soon.

I have to say something chuck, I hate the rematches. It just doesn't seem fair to those clans, and isn't as interesting. imo. Please way in everyone if you agree or disagree. Maybe a change could be made (seeding plus or minus 1 spot is really not a big dead) where LOW and KORT were switched to avoid all these rematches.

Anyway, just something to consider, I'd be interested to hear everyone else's opinions on this.

p.s. "else's" is a word, I'm ignoring spell check.

I agree and disagree to an extent. On one foot I don't like the rematches because I want to see clans play new clans. On another note I love the rematches because 2 of them had very surprising turnouts, KORT G1, and LoW O&H. They will be interesting to see the 2nd time around.

Plus the ultimate goal is to get the best pitted against each other in the end which we will still do the way it is. I don't think messing with the seeds would be fair. Someone would ultimately not like it and it isn't fair to them because it was changed for peoples opinions, the way it is now no one in particular picked the matchups.

"way in", "on one foot and on another note" lol, what are you all smoking?

It's rather bittersweet and I have to say my first reaction was the same as George's, thinking it's a shame that a recent challenge has to be re-enacted all over again. But then as I thought more about it - and also read numerous posts in which the protagonists were looking for sweet revenge - I drew the conclusion it wasn't such a bad thing after all.

That aside it also doesn't do to mess with the seedings or it made the whole exercise futile, plus someone is bound not to be happy with an amendment.

I'd say let it stand. It's great that it's all come to fruition so rapidly. Well done Chuck et al.

Being from KORT and one of the rematches, I am glad we get it. We get a chance to clear out some demons for us.

Also Thanks for Chuuuuck and Empire for putting this one. It is gonna be a great cup.

Being from one of those demons and not having participated the first time around, I'm also looking forward to this rematch. G1 is always underrated. For the most part I think that's because of a few reasons 1) we want everyone in our clan to participate that wants to and won't hold someone out simply because their score isn't "high enough" 2) most of the G1 players are willing to play anyone and everyone. We play in a lot of tournaments and sometimes that costs points that some of the higher ranked players are afraid to lose. We all saw what happened to the rankings of JR and Blitz when they started playing a lot of tournaments but clearly they're still good players. 3) Our players tend to be well rounded and able to play on any map but not specialists on one or two. This can cause us to lose games to specialists at times. This isn't to say that any other clan is wrong to do things differently than we do but it does cause us to be underrated IMO

I agree with you Barterer. You guys do get consistently under-ranked. You have played top clans and have come up short (unlike others-Empire included-who haven't had the gall to face such tough challenges). G1 always puts up a great fight though, and I think there are few who aren't afraid to face you. I think the respect your clan garners is far above the rank you received here.

I disagree. I think most people respect your clan, but I don't think G1 is top ten. This has nothing to do with the rank or score of your individual players, and I don't think anyone else judges you guys that way. The tie against kort was nice, but overall you guys have a loosing record. Your clan has 3 wins and 5 losses in clan wars. I just can't see putting you guys in the top 10 with that record.

No doubt you guys are good, but there are a lot of goo clans in cc now. The top 20 are all good clans I think. I think G1 is about #15 imo. I think that loosing by a close margin to a good clan shows something, but if you have lost to 5 clans then it would be hard to put your clan above them. 4 of them are or were top 10, DV I don't think was. That's too many though. Best win is over AOD. I would rank G1 somewhere around BSS and AOC. All respectable, but a few spots out of the top 10.

If G1 could beat O&H then I would think maybe you guys move about to about 11th or 12 in my opinion, but you have to get to a winning record and beat an ID or nemesis or someone like that also to get you into 10 or 9th. Just my opinion, based on looking over clan records. But I am, admittedly, going heavily off of past performance and not so much off of knowledge of your players and recent changes.

Yep,same like Left4dead-all ours members play games, not like other high clans, who constantly play games with more or least same players. I will defenitly not be in some clan who will tell me to sit in chair and to be constantly reserve.

I always felt G-1 was a top clan because of their versatility. Whenever I face a G-1 team I know I've got my hands full. Don't feel under-rated because I doubt you will be. Like George said the top 15-20 clans are extremely competitive and to underestimate any of them is foolish.

Yes your group is involved in many tournaments, I know because my group is there too. Many clans participate in tournaments and I think that is partly why clans have grown so successful over the past couple of years.

BTW, didn't G-1 give THOTA a run for their money a couple of years back?
