First off, Unvote

I didn't really see that it was too fair to vote for someone else and have them at 2 votes when no other player was online at the time. But, no matter we're here now and the random votes may continue.

As for why I'm not scum...hmmm...how to answer that in a way that you'd believe me is hard. So, lets try...I'm not scum. Satisfied? There is no evidence either way, but it is hard to prove this too you.

Anyway, my vote will now fall back on Aimless. It's not a revenge vote you see, he's just very indecisive as shown on page one. That worries me.

But now since people are here to argue, I'll vote him again so we can get a conversation going. So, Vote - - - Aimless

Well... now that my vote would make only two, Vote: Talapus.

Come now; I said, well before you mentioned anything, that my erratic behavior on page 1 was a result of the hazards involved with playing mafia at 4:30 AM. There are several examples in my past history where I've done similar things as a result of exhaustion. It has nothing to do with indecisiveness.

On the other hand, your behavior is extremely scummy.

There's a difference between placing a second vote on someone when we're all screwing around making random votes, and doing it when you think someone is suspicious.

But, whatever. Unvote, since you apparently don't agree.

I feel the need to add a little bit more to the above, since now that I think about it the contradiction does seem pretty scummy.

When I made that "placing a second vote is not okay" quote, it was in response to Talapus accusing me of indecisiveness - my defense being that I change my vote (twice) when I realized that I had accidentally put someone at lynch -2. On the first page of day one, when I'm voting randomly just to get things going, adding a second vote in that situation is bad, hence my successive votes and unvotes.

On the other hand, I very deliberately put Talapus at lynch -2, because I think he's acting scummy, and I think we should pressure him a bit. Maybe not lynch him, but at the very least I want to hear him defend himself.

So, (in my mind, at least) there's no actual contradiction in my actions, although when I take a step back and look at it I can easily see how you'd get that impression.

Sometimes it seems people take early-day-one screwing around a bit too seriously...

But at the very least I'll UNVOTE

I haven't really been able to get a bead on anyone just yet. The Talapus thing seemed like a bit of grasping as straws, but wicked does have a pretty decent batting average at this.

It's day one...we always make big deals out of nothing.

But, Aimless I liked your explanation. Usually the players posting threads don't look back to see how it might appear to the rest of us. So, Unvote.

I agree. Unfortunately, I have a horrible batting average when it comes to determining if she's scum. With only a couple of exceptions, she always seems town to me.

I disagree. I'm horrible at picking out scum. When I'm a clueless townie, I really am clueless!

Better a clueless townie than an aim...

I agree there's a difference on 2nd votes between screwing around and being serious, but when did I not agree with you?

Also you said the following about Talapus:
Aimless wrote:On the other hand, your behavior is extremely scummy.

If he was "extremely scummy," why would you take your vote off him just because I asked you a question that had nothing to do with your reasoning to vote on Talapus?

I don't know about you, but I consider voting someone (or, for that matter, simply FOS'ing them) over an action they took to be "disagreement."

MountainLion wrote:If he was "extremely scummy," why would you take your vote off him just because I asked you a question that had nothing to do with your reasoning to vote on Talapus?

Past history demonstrates to me that it is extremely difficult for me to make a case against someone else when I am also drawing fire. I thought at the time, and still think, that there is a case to be made against Talapus - I don't particularly think we should lynch him (yet), but I think pressuring him might draw some useful answers.

However, pressing the case seems to have put me square in the firing line as well; I don't mind, because I am perfectly capable of explaining my actions, but I'm not going to try to push the issue against Talapus until the case against me has been settled. There are too many counter-examples floating around for me to treat this game in any other way - case in point, the final day of ManHunt, where you and wicked managed to get me lynched in exactly this same manner.

Does that satisfy you?

Frankly, given the ManHunt parallel, you're starting to attract my suspicion as well; but, I'll hold off on pressing the case, simply because it's natural to be suspicious of someone whose accusing you and I don't particularly care to fall into that trap. Still, IGMEOY.

Give that back! It's mine, I tell you, mine! I need it to see with!

In another, completely unrelated note, it seems that we haven't heard much from cakeboy or Serbia. Submarining?

yep when I was catching up this morning, it struck me that ML and pancake were quiet, so I was going to keep an eye on them. Didn't even realize Serbia was in the game! But it could be b/c I'm not familiar with his avatar, as that's how I look for posts. I'll go check now...

Let's see who checks in. Yesterday was a holiday for most, so let's give them a chance to get back in da groove.

I haven't found much to say is all. Would you like my input on something? I'd be happy to give it.

First, I think it's too early to accuse someone of submarining. It's only been a day, and some people don't get on until late in the day, and on top of that, yesterday was a holiday.

You explained your reason for voting, and that makes sense, but I don't see a reason to unvote right now.

I only just realized why you thought I was scummy early on. I hadn't noticed wicked's vote for Aimless. One thing I don't understand is why you think if Tal is scum that I must be too.

Well, I'm even more at sea than you, since, to the best of my knowledge, I've never played against wicked when she's scum (Sherwood excepted, but even that doesn't really count, since tonka killed her night one and I was a day two replacement), so I'm not exactly sure what to look for.

But it's worth talking all this out, since given the small size of the game and that fact that there's either one high-powered mafia or two rank-and-file ones, this whole shooting match could be over by night two if we're not careful.

wicked was Godfather in the ManHunt mafia, so that's probably a good place to start looking. It's also a good place to see how pathetic a cop I can be.

That said... I don't get a scum vibe from her at all this game. But I didn't get much of one from her in ManHunt either.

If the scum were smart, since this is such a small game, they wouldn't kill anyone tonight, so the pool of suspects would be larger for us tomorrow and scum could just sit back while we lynch each other. I'd agree there's only 1, maybe 2 total in the game.
