50 States

Just throwing this out there but would there be any support for a 50 States Map?
Gameplay: a lot like 13 Colonies, collection bonuses for holding whole states. The states would be broken up into smaller territories, except the smaller ones like Rhode Island, Connecticut and Delaware. No roads, just classic territories. No bonus regions, just the collection bonus... possibly an auto deploy on DC, because it doesn't really fit as a state in the collection bonus. I'm leaning away from an airport gimmick to link up east and West... I feel like with random drops, it should be fair enough. Though Alaska and Hawaii will need some airplane or boat gimmick, maybe put in several airports on the map that one way attack Hawaii or Alaska, so the states can be assaulted by pretty much anywhere else in the USA, whereas airports only on the West Coast just make Alaska and Hawaiieasy states to collect for whoever builds a base on on the westcoast, though, it could be a fair counterbalance to the east coasters who get a quick bonus from DC. I'll think about it.

Um, IH, you're behind the times. Look at my
USA 2.1 map! though another one with different gameplay could happen, it couldn't be done within the current size restrictions. I actually need 200px wider on the small to make the NE not so cramped.

Yeah, I've seen USA 2.1, but I'm feeling its too big and I'm not a huge fan of the roads, I figure armies aren't going to move like a family on vacation.

whereas this map would come from the perspect of armies seeking to unite parts of the USA, like state by state. A lot like how 13 colonies works... if there's no support or felt need for a map like this, I guess I'll just go back to my idea of mapping the American wars, I've done the revolution... next is 1812.

I would personally love to see a USA revamp (not your original intent, but I'm gonna run with it).
Similar to Das Schloss revamp...wait for all games to finish, and add some territories (ie, small New England territories).
This map also has very poor army placement, look at Wyoming...I mean really! There's so much room, yet the army is right on the name of the friggin state?!

Yeah, I really dislike the USA map... it feels too much like something you might see in a preschool. Same for the map pack. 2.1 does look good, but its kind of huge.

I really like the map pack, and yes 2.1 is nice but huuuuuuuge.
Would it be possible to do something like that? Revamp USA and add 12 territories?
Now that I actually see how many territories would need to be added, maybe it'd screw it up too much...But it would make the map much better.

yeah, I like the idea of revamping USA and adding the missing territories, a color scheme change would be welcome as well, just make it a little less campy.

If a new map were to be considered, there's always the whole Manifest Destiny thing:

excellent, glsd to hear it BK, I might put some serious effort into making it now. I like the idea of including the territorial aquiditions of the USA into the mix, I think they'd make for more interesting bonus regions if I went that route instead of the collection bonus. Otherwise they might make for cool region colorings, instead of just doing the red, white and blue scheme I used on 13 Colonies.

I am thee ViperOverLord and I concur. I like the idea of having regions within colored states too and making it a large territory map and having to collect all counties for a particular state bonus. And especially small states like Rhode Island, Deleware; you could represent them but w/o a bonus.
Also, this map does not conflict with USA 2.1. Both concepts are valid and unique.
