Celtic Warrior King , the New Tribes begin to fight amongst themselves, attempting to gain power of the Seven Nations.
Word spreads amongst the Old Tribes that new strength has been found amongst the druids, channeling energy once again from Havgan's Underworld and the Netherworld.
With the New Tribes at war with one another, the opportunity to unite the Old Tribes and reclaim the Seven Nations presents itself . . .
This tournament is the (fictional) historical follow-on from
Celtic Warrior King and
Dragon King of Wales and is the another in a series of ‘evolving storyline’ tournaments I am releasing (terminator / assassin). Success in each round will lead to the next challenge, which will be revealed later . . .
It is open to all players with a decent attendance record (see below). Freemiums welcome (two-games-at-a-time).

High Druid of The Old Tribes At a meeting of senior druids of the Old Tribes, grey warriors from Havgan's underworld are summoned in a bid to create an army of destruction against the New Tribes. With the other senior druids continuing to summon troops, you set-off to rid Wales of the New Tribes, then on to the Emerald Isle where it is believed small pockets of the New Tribes remain to be eliminated. Elders from the Netherworld wish you luck. High Druid of The Old Tribes After your successes in Wales and the Emerald Isle, you receive further advice from the other senior druids: "The time is nigh to banish the New Tribes from Scotland and to move accross the Sea to eliminate the small pockets of warring New Tribes there. The Undead Warriors of the Underworld are with us - let us move on at haste before Havgan summons them back."High Druid of The Old Tribes Your most senior druid rushes to you: "Havgan has begun to summon the undead warriors back to his Underworld - you must act with haste and finally defeat all of the New Tribes from the Celtic World whilst we still have them at our side. show: Tournament Format and Points System
In Phase I, 16 players will play 2 matches in 4 groups of 4 players. In Assassin games, the winning player will score 4 points. Other surviving players will score 1 point. In Terminator games, the winning player will score 2 points. All players will also score 1 point for each termination. The top 2 players from each group will progress to the next round. In Phase II, 8 players will play 2 matches in 2 groups of 4 players. Points scoring will be as above. The top 2 players from each group will progress to the next round. In the Final Phase, 4 players will play 2 matches. Points scoring will be as above. The player with most points will be declared the winner. In the event of players finishing with equal points, a tie-break match will be played. [size=75]* If necessary players will also be compared on the number of terminations, then number of rounds survived in the phase in question. If this does not prove to determine qualifying players then a tie-break match will occur.

Fog of War will be present due to the lack of military intelligence in this historical era. With Celtic troops only relatively fast-moving over long distances, adjacent reinforcements will be in place. Spoils will be of varying nature, according to the storyline.(Other settings will be Assassin or Terminator, Sequential and Automatic)

Players must have 2 free slots at all times. Players must also have a 95%+ attendance record and have completed 25 matches.
show: Reserves
All reserves will be sent a PM when an opening occurs. The first reserve to respond will gain a place. After the first round, reserves will be sought through the creata/join forum.
show: Build-Up Matches
In Terminator matches, the position of players at the end of 23 rounds will determine how they score (e.g. the number of terminations achieved at this point). In Assassin matches, each player scores 1 point if there is no result at the end of 23 rounds, and in 1 v 1 games neither player scores. The remainder of such games then becomes a CC-points-only affair.
show: Tie Breaks
One-match tie-breaks will use the same map as the final match of the phase in question. Escalating spoils will be implemented.

Players’ groupings / opponents will be determined by random.org.
show: Missing Turns
If a player misses a turn then he cannot score any points in the game in question. If a player deadbeats at any stage then he will be ejected from the tournament.
show: Joining Matches
Players will be informed when they have a match and will have 24 hours to join. If they fail to do so then they will be ejected from the tournament and a reserve will replace them.
