Has the maker of the Germany map ever been to Germany?

Postby DresdenSooner on Wed Apr 09, 2008 6:06 am

I currently reside in Germany and am shocked at level of geographic knowledge put into that map. It should either be removed or updated. Having read some of the comments regarding factuality of other maps it makes no sense that the Germany map remain in such a sad state. I would personally offer to revamp the map myself, but I have no experience in programming or map making. In fact I am surprised that I was able to start this thread. Such is my level computer abilities. My ignorance of computers aside, something simply must be done about the map labeled "Germany". Unless of course it is "bizarro Gemany" and then the title simply needs to be changed.

you maybe could have posted this in foundry discussion, i dont know,

i have had no knowledge of "computer programming" or design, and im making a london map - 1st draft out soon, keep a look out! - anyway im making that, i picked up how to use photoshop in about 5days - even with every exerienced photoshop user saying that i wouldnt.
so if you see it as such a big deal, you have a go or PM the person, or comment on the thread,
if you dont want to make the map yourself, you could just print off his map, then draw your own boarders or terit names, then send it to the maker, saying "this is a more accurate version of your map".

i dont know, im fairly new in the foundry myself, some other map makers/'posters' may be able to help you more

it is not required of the map maker to have been to Germany as i am quite sure Gnome has never been to Midkemdil, MrConfigT has never been to Middle Earth & DiM has never visited the Age of Realms.

Sorry didn't mean to imply that a person needs to go to a place. Probably should have said something like, "ever seen a map of Germany."

In any case, I am glad it is being revamped. Just a quick look at the link posted tells me that it is being done well. I will take a look at it in more detail later.

So it looks like I don't need to worry about getting photoshop to do it myself, whew! ;)
