Foundry Competition

Postby gimil on Thu Jun 26, 2008 1:42 am

Its been a long long time since we had a foundry revamp competition. I would like to try and get one started in the next few days but before we think about that we need a map to revamp!

Has anyone got any ideas of what map they would like to see revamped?
What do you know about map making, bitch?

why? the graphics have sucked ever since it was released. and even if it's just a satellite image with a few overlays on it it still has some horrible flaws. so basically whoever made it (haven't bothered to check) didn't even manage to make something that easy. the continents are traced like hell, there are a lot of places where the overlay layers do not match the actual satellite image

I'd vote for that... I am in a tournie game on asia now and had to triple check the armies in Laos/Cambodia area to figure out which was which.

Tramriel

I like how Tramriel looks personally. Sometimes fancier does not mean better and in this case I'd say the rougher edges are what makes it an attractive map to me.

since about six of us have now tried and given up on the notion of revamping Brazil, we may as well let everybody else have a shot. There is no map that needs it more.

beyond that, i think the Ancient Greece map could be updated to look, well, ancient.

Ancient Greece is another good candidate. And Brazil is a good idea if you wanna delegate it to the foundry...

Asia definitely needs a revamp. Africa and Ancient Greece could use them as well, but not as badly.

Asia doesn't need as much help as Brazil, or even Philippines needs. Both of those maps either have awful borders, or are suffering from lots of blurriness.
