Hello everyone. For those of you who donāt know me, Iām scipioafricanus1 and, with the help of my buddy JoshyBoy, Iām organising my first tournament, "Scip and Joshyās Monster Mixer" aka The āWho are you calling a handicap?ā Scramble.
The theme of the tourney is "Mixer" or the movie "Training Day" - more experienced players get to (are forced to) work with a rookie. Hopefully this will help those less established on CC (that would be me) get to know those of you who have been around the block a few times.
In this doubles tournament, players sign up as individuals and are listed in order of rank/points at the time. We then take the player with the most points and pair them up with the player with the least points and so on and so forth until the two āmiddle-of-the-roadā players are left and paired together. Now, this may suck a little bit for the higher ranked players, but if they are worthy of their rank, then they will be able to compete with a junior partner. And of course there are plenty of excellent players who are either temporarily low ranked or are simply new.
Format The format is a little complicated, (blame JoshyBoy ) but is basically as follows. There are four sections, with each section having one game, with four teams in that game. The winners of the game in each section go through to the next game in that section. The three losing teams play again and the winners of that game go through to join the previous games winners. Then the last two teams have a final game to determine who joins the two previous winners. Then, in each respective section there is a game with the three winning teams, the winners going through to the final game in that section, with the two losers battling it out again and the winning team going through to play a final game with the previous winners. The winners of that last two-team game then go through to face the other three winners from the other three sections in a final section where the format is repeated.
Lost? Donāt worry, me and JoshyBoy know what weāre doing.

Yeah, OK. I don't usually play team games but this tourney looks like a good one.
I'M IN!!!

I would have been in but these setting "Settings Automatic, Sequential, Escalating, Unlimited, and Sunny." will lead to some very lopsided games. W 2.1 with unlimited forts requires you to be in near perfect harmony with your partner to be effective. If you decide to change the settings to Chained you will likely get more sign ups.
For now I am passing on this, unless it changes to chained.

You make a very good point and the change has been made from unlimited fort to chained. Thanks for the input guys.
