The first post of this forum has been updated under "organization" to show how the progression of the clan wars will be handled to make sure everyone is keeping up and one clan can not slow down the rest of the tournament.

It has also been determined that if any player gets kicked off of the site while playing in any tournament games, those games will stand AS IS regardless of the result of the game. It will not be thrown out and it will not be replayed no matter what.

Request Clarification on 1v1s.

I don't think I saw this addressed. Two similar questions:
Given: Best of 5 for a 1v1. All games made by the "home" player of that 1v1 match.

1> Does a 1v1 match count as ONE or FIVE games against that player's game load? i.e. in an early (not play in) CW, a player can participate in only 15 games. If one player plays both 1v1 matches, is he then only able to participate in FIVE other games?

2> Each map only usable one per side per Clan War. So the 5 1v1 maps used must all be different as well? and may not be used by THAT SIDE in any multiplayer games?

I'm pretty sure I know the answers to these, especially the second one. But the way the 1v1s are noted in organization made me wonder JUST enough to ask, and make sure EVERYONE is reading it the same way.

Thank you for asking. I want to make sure everyone is on the same page. 5 1v1 games make up 1 set. That set counts as only 1 game for a player, not 5. That set also only counts as that map being used 1 time by the clan that presented that map, meaning they can still use it 1 more time in another game type (doubles, triples, or quads). I hope this clarifies it. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Actually, yes. Your statement makes it sound as though all 5 games are to be played with identical settings on the same map. Is that correct, or MAY the home team vary it?

And in the play in roundss, where a map can only be used once, the 1v1 games would "use up" the map... okay, thanks.

All five 1v1s must have identical settings on the same map (if you want multiple maps, the way to get around the rule is to choose the random map, but then you don't control where you play). You may not have your five games be on different maps otherwise.

The 1v1 set of five games only counts as one map. If you put forward the Random map, that would not count against your map count regardless of how the random played out.

Hope that helped. If you want an example, you can look at http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=442&t=96650&start=0. It is our challenge against Nemesis which had 1v1s (best of 5, same as here).

Is the use of Random map unlimited ? Or does it count the same as all other maps & can be used only twice per challenge ?

Freak, that challenge was one of our toughest. I know the score is lopsided, but that was all the 2nd half. Our guys really buckled down tight. I think people will quickly find how tough you are in this tourney. I don't think there will be many (if any) easy wins out there. It's the reason I love the NCAA college basketball tournament. Any of the teams out there can win. It's the upsets that make it great.

Interesting question. I would say the use of Random is unlimited because the reason behind map restrictions is to keep clans from playing the same map over and over which they are good at and to encourage using more maps to show all around strategy. Using random maps accomplishes both of those things. I would love to hear if someone has a differing opinion but I would think it is unlimited.

I personally disagree. I think, random map is actually a gamble, that adds just another luck factor.

A set of random maps is a bit like a lottery: Clan A might get lucky & get all the right maps for their teams, whilst Clan B might get it all wrong and have their Waterloo experts stuck on City Mogul, their Iraq experts stuck on AoR, their Feudal experts on Iraq, etc.

I think, it´s the fairer & more meaningful competition to have the strongest teams of each clan compete on their maps.

It´s one strength of a clan to know their members strengths & weaknesses and play those as effective as possible. Forming the right teams for the right maps & settings.

IA would probably not play an all-random challenge right now. And I don´t think, many of our members would be happy to be forced to play an all-random set in this tourney.

Do all 5 games have to be played with the same set of crappy dice.

That is fine with me. Do you think randoms should be allowed the same number of times as any other map or do you think we should allow at least a few more since it isn't like a clan is taking advantage of one specific map?

Same as the other maps, to keep things even. It will also eliminate any chance for debate on how many are fair.

I personally would rank Nemesis 8th, but I think that you will get something a little bit lower than that. Perhaps between 10 and 12, because many will discount you a bit based on you guys loosing HA. Also the lose to Empire being by a good margin. Like I said though, I would vote you guys 8th if I were voting.

As for random maps, 2 times seems a bit low. Perhaps a separate number for random, something between 5 and 10 sounds reasonable.

Ya, I don't want to start a large debate here. Random will just be recognized like any other map. You can use it the same number of times and in the same manner you can use any other map.
