Site Downtime

Post by chipv »

We have just had a serious issue resulting in significant site downtime.

It has only been possible to roll back to a previously saved version of the database which means people may have had to take the same turn again, apologies for the inconvenience.

Time has been added to turns for this period.

There are still a number of large issues to be resolved.

If you have an issue please post in Bug Reports

Thanks for your hard work, ChipV, others who helped, and BigWham, too.

TeeGee said in the mChat (soon after CC came back ON) that the site was hacked, and that it is safe now.

Those reassuring and informative messages from TeeGee are appreciated. Thanks to TeeGee for letting us know via that mode.

So does this mean that the site will not be returned to where it was on 1/2 around 2 pm, PST? Too bad if that is the case. Playing in 1 game where an additional player had been eliminated and had the other player down to 13 troops with me having over 90.

Unfortunately the site could only be restored to the last available full backup.

Thankfully I don't have alot of the games at the moment but the ones I do are barely playable... tons of time outs and various other oddities.. perhaps just take the whole thing down till its fully ready?

Anyhow - appreciate whomever is trying to fix it but I'm finding it extremely frustrating to use in its current state.

What's going on with joining games? Are there plans to extend BRs with the issues by chance?

Earlier today I was able to join my games but not start any of my turns or chat. Now I am unable to join my games. After loading for about 15 secounds I get this message, "Gateway Timeout: The gateway did not receive a timely response from the upstream server or application."

I am having issues with ending games. Takes at least 3 reloads to end game. Also seems 24 hr clock is sort of screwed up. I know I played my last game mid morning yesterday and had no games left to play and this morning I needed to play by 6:00 a.m. Thanks for help. Sorry about the issues.

EDIT: This issue seems to have abated since I reported it earlier this morning.

There are problems with the Beta System. The games from "Alpha" were duplicated on the Beta, but that's not a big deal. However I was playing some scenarios there (and working on several other scenarios) and now almost all of them have disappeared.
